FC Helsingør has signed 19 year-old striker Jeremy Rafanello, who joins from Philadelphia Union’s Youth Academy.
Sporting Director Matt Barnes sees a lot of potential in the young player:
– Jeremy matches the profile very well for the kind of players we wanted to bring in from the states. He’s young, but strong and quick, and has a really good mix of strength, height, and pace. He’s a good finisher who can play both as a holdup player who can control the ball under pressure, but he can also play well in a two-man offence, with a faster, more agile player at his side.
– He played in our test match against Superliga team AC Horsens and both in that match and during his trial here in Helsingør he has impressed us with his abilities as a finisher, and his ability to create space in the oppositions defense.
– Jeremy isn’t a player who will go straight into the starting 11 to begin with, but he will be part of the first team and will learn from them. One of the thoughts behind bringing in an experienced player like Jeppe Kjær was for him to teach young players like Jeremy what it takes to make it in Danish football.
– We are very much looking forward to seeing Jeremy fulfill his potential in the FC Helsingør shirt.
Jeremy Rafanello has been given a contract for two seasons.
