FC Helsingør has signed the young american wingback Zico Bailey
Sporting Director Matt Barnes rates the young player highly:
– Zico comes to FCH from the very highly regarded LA Galaxy Academy in Southern California. Zico appeared several times for the Galaxy’s USL side, and made 17 starts for California State University Fullerton in his Freshman season. Following his year at CSUN, Zico signed for Kalmar FF in Sweden.
– What attracted us to Zico was his ability on the ball at right back. He’s very confident with the ball and can get himself out of difficult situations, especially when teams will press high up the pitch. Zico has the pace and the engine to get up and down the sidelines which gives us another option in the attack. He’s a modern outside back/wing-back that can create overload situations on the flanks and we feel that this skill set will be increasingly valuable as we continue to develop our style of play.
– Zico is a gifted young player, and once he grows into the rigors of professional football, we expect him to blossom as a defender within our organization.
Zico Bailey has been given a 3 year deal at FCH.
