FC Helsingør entered Friday’s top-of-the-table clash away to Fredericia with the sole objective of distancing itself from its most direct competitor. Kicking off Matchday 9 in the NordicBet Liga, FC Helsingør did just that and won 4-2 at Monjasa Park, thanks to a come-from-behind onslaught of second-half goals from Daniel Norouzi (59th minute), Elijah Just (65th and 67th minute), and Peter Buch Christiansen (82nd minute).

Goalkeeper Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard was named Man of the Match for his 4-save performance in goal. Daniel Norouzi wore the captain’s armband in the absence of Nikolaj Hansen.

New Zealand internationals Just and Callum McCowatt filled out the scoresheet: Just finished with a brace to climb into a four-way tie for second place in the NordicBet Liga golden boot race with a co-team-high of five goals; and McCowatt assisted on both Norouzi’s goal and Just’s first goal. On the year, McCowatt has four goals and two assists.

Through nine rounds of league action, FCH (7-2-0, 23 points) remains unbeaten and atop the NordicBet Liga table. Helsingør will next shift into knockout play with a Sydbank Pokalen showdown with top-flight Superliga side Odense at Helsingør Stadion for a 17.45 CET on 21 September..
